Customer review of Pumpkin AA0701B 2-Din head unit with integrated DAB+

I ordered the AA0701B radio because it gave the best impression of what I was looking for due to the Android 11 car radio and the built-in Dab+

Delivery was super fast, all the materials needed for assembly were included in the box as described. This made installation easy, but depending on the vehicle you should also order the appropriate adapter. (I also ordered a matching 2 DIN mounting frame for our Ducato.)
The small frame of the radio does not fit into a 2din installation frame, but with a little skill it can be made to fit relatively easily.

The Android 11 software runs smoothly and is easy to understand, just like on a smartphone.

Rear view camera, I only had to run an additional cable to get a reversing signal to the radio so that the already installed camera starts automatically when I put the car in reverse, which works really well. But that is not a requirement that the device comes with. After installation, I of course first tested the functions. The display is very bright and high in contrast.

FM radio reception is shockingly good. I had no idea how many channels I could receive here after all the “noise”. The DAB+ reception disappointed me a bit at the beginning; I only received something when I touched the radio housing. So it's a big problem. Read the instructions again and then make the DAB antenna's magnet bare metal under the headliner. Tataaa!... 29 channels that can be received crystal clear. Anyone who can read has a clear advantage.

I bought and installed Sygic for navigation. Works fine until you turn on the radio. The announcement was so quiet that it was no longer possible to hear it. After a lot of trying, I found the solution. If you swap the Tts voice for the standard “Doris” voice, it works perfectly. The radio program in the background is interrupted and you receive crystal-clear announcements. So it wasn't the radio, but the navigation program.

Hands-free calling is also very good. I installed the supplied microphone in the intended position of the vehicle in the interior lighting. The cable is long enough.
My expectations were exceeded and I recommend Pumpkin Audio
